The headquarters of the Educational Initiative for Central and Eastern Europe are located in Austria for good reason.
Bordering on four of the nations that EICEE serves, Austria's capital is within a day's travel from most of the others. Many Central and Eastern European nations were once a part of the Austrian empire; Austria in turn knew for a time the presence of Soviet occupation.
Today, Austria, an historic meeting point between East and West, is the ideal location for the future leaders of Central and Eastern Europe to come together.
EICEE also serves neighboring nations in the Caucasus and Central Asia which share many of the same cultural and political challenges resulting from the break up of the Soviet Union.
EICEE welcomes participants from these nations as well. We are committed to expanding our programs so as to provide resources for those nations who as well suffered greatly under the Soviet Union.
