This month´s event from our regular “last Thursday with CI“ series of public lectures and gatherings took place on January 29th. The seminar focused on the chain of events that led to the Communist takeover in Russia in the fall of 1917 and their long-term impact. Dr Jaroslav Hrbek (Institute for Contemporary History) delivered the opening lecture in front of some 30 participants. His well-prepared overview was peppered with refreshing historical anecdotes, often causing bursts of laughter in the audience.
