Dr. Jan Figel
Dr. Jan Figel is the Commissioner-Designate for Education, Training, Culture and Multilingualism of the European Union. Dr. Figel has served as Head of the Foreign Relations Committee of the Slovak Republics National Council, dealing with Slovak Republics National Council, dealing with Slovakias accession to the EU. He has been a Member of Parliament since 1992.
Dr. Figel lectured at our major international conference entitled Human Dignity and the Failure of Communism which was held at Castle Neuwaldegg (Vienna).
As commissioner for the education, culture and youth to the European Union, Dr. Figel affirmed the importance of culture and education as ways to foster and protect the dignity and rights of every individual. He called the over 250 participants from 35 different nations to build a culture of freedom with responsibility for human dignity.
